The journey to developing my signature methodology for Authentic Beauty Confidence started somewhere unexpected and glamorous:

It all began in a SFX Makeup Studio in Van Nuys, Los Angeles as a trainee to become a special effects makeup artist who would work on movies like Terminator 2, the original Jurassic Park, Batman Returns, Edward Scissorhands, Interview with a Vampire and later on as Make Up Designer of movies like, ALFIE, and personal makeup artist to Oscar winning actress, Natalie Portman in the Thor Series and other films. 
I am so grateful for all the opportunities that came my way and even more grateful that I recognized those and acted upon them. 

It wasn't all glamorous though and there were many stressful and hard moments along the way. Believe me, there were times when I questioned my perseverance. But my passion for makeup in all its forms, my curiosity to explore new paths in my career has led me to the most beautiful experiences, meeting such inspiring, special people and having had the chance to collaborate in and having been part of a 3x Oscar winning team at my mentor, Stanton Winston's Studio.

MY Classroom

I attended the school "Complexions International" in London, UK where I learned the powerful makeup basics in the fields of Theatrical Stage , Film and Beauty.

1987

I had the amazing opportunity to meet SFX guru Stan Winston through my fellow countryman and mentor, Arnold Schwarzenegger. After some intense trial period I became part of the core
Stan Winston Team in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Stan was my hero and idol and became my most beloved mentor who taught me all the high level skills around the many niches of Makeup

By 1994 I spent 6 years of often tough but so rewarding times being a creative part on some of the most beloved, successful and recognized Hollywood movies like TERMINATOR 2, JURASSIC PARK, EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, and BATMAN RETURNS. The hard work paid off though as I became part of a 3 times Oscar Winning Team - 
I STILL PINCH MYSELF SOMETIMES!

2005 was the year I met my wonderful, favourite client, now friend, Oscar Winning Actress, Natalie Portman and our beautiful journey started....from working on films, press tours, film festivals, award ceremonies (Oscars, Golden Globe etc), Beauty Campaigns for Dior to creating her wedding makeup ...... I'm so grateful for having met Natalie and for our many fun years together ... to this date.

The world of FILM Makeup turned me into a passionate skin enthusiast, constantly seeking to find the best possible solutions for my celebrity clients' authentic beauty. 

Through the encouragement of Natalie Portman and some other beloved celebrity clients of mine, I first took the courage, then the step and created the EKD FaceWardrobe®, where I bring my signature methodology around Authentic Beauty to women like Y-O-U.
This is my secret approach which was reserved for only my regular clients until now.

During my 30+ year career working on bustling film sets and privately with long-time clients like Natalie Portman as well as Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and Zoe Saldana, among others I’VE LEARNED A POWERFUL TRUTH:

Every woman requires a customised skin and beauty routine that integrates the perfect-for-HER products and daily practices to keep her skin healthy, vibrant, and makeup ready. 

Sadly, most of us have been led to believe that there is a one-size-fits-all way to accomplish that healthy glow. Something even I fell victim to as a Hollywood makeup artist—until I discovered the truth!

so That was the exact moment it all changed for me. When I started owning my own story...

In fact, it was THE most important factor to consider in delivering the top results my clients expected. 

You see, after a few negative skin reactions from actors and actresses where I had to painstakingly find quick fixes, I set out to do things differently. Instead of using the same skin care and makeup for everyone, I started to do an in-depth analysis of each client’s skin type, lifestyle, diet, and more in order to inform the products I used, and to design their personalised regime.

This is the "something" that turned me into an obsessive, passionate skin enthusiast who constantly seeks out the most reliable solutions for my celebrity clients and YOU.

It was in studying with the best in SFX like my mentor Stan Winston and creating various makeup designs for the faces of top celebrities that I learned everything there is to know about what creates the very best canvas for makeup.

I said no to a cookie-cutter approach to beauty and it changed everything.
I saw such great results in the way my clients looked and felt and it inspired me to pursue this passion further.

It was also the time that I became a first time mum at 41. And after having been pregnant during making a movie and then again going on a movie set to work with a then 3 months old baby, I realised that I wanted to change the course of my career - which by the way took another 3 years to achieve.

Now to be fair, all those films I worked on while pregnant or with my baby boy, were projects with my regular client, Natalie Portman and Nat was amazing by making sure that I was staying comfortable and healthy through it all. She was so supportive and I was just a really lucky girl to have such an amazing client and friend. And she encouraged me also to pursue this dream of mine to help more women feel and look their best at any age.



My story really began the moment I finally said no.

I never regretted my decision for a second. I still work with my favourite celebrity clients on special projects and also  enjoy meeting and working with women from all around the world that truly inspire me. That’s why I’m devoted to helping you discover exactly what YOUR skin needs to thrive, without any of the gimmicks, generalizations, or pushing certain products and beliefs on you.

Curiosity in and around each field in makeup has been the red thread through my career and this has been the single most valuable tool in my business. From my beginnings as a SFX makeup artist, collaborating and becoming part of a 3 times Oscar winning team to running the whole makeup department for and on big Hollywood movies. From being the makeup designer on films to being the personal makeup artist to some of the biggest names in the business all the way to creating the makeup looks for big beauty campaigns, like DIOR, has given me invaluable experience and insight into the powerful world of makeup.

I created my signature beauty methodology, starting originally with my regular client, Oscar winning actress Natalie Portman. I take all my clients’s location, travel schedule, stress levels, product choices, unique beauty goals and nutritional diet preferences into consideration to build their very own unique beauty masterplan. It also includes strengthening the gut:skin relationship, supporting your face with facial exercises and designing your bespoke skincare and makeup routine.
